Last week we supported a petition from Utahns Speak Out calling Sen. Hatch home to Utah for a February town hall in person. Since then, Rep. Chris Stewart held a town hall with frustrated constituents in St. George and intimated that he has no plans in the near future to hold a town hall in Northern Utah. Sen. Lee held a highly-controlled tele-townhall on Monday night. And Rep. Chaffetz held a rowdy town hall in Cottonwood Heights that captured attention across the nation.
Utahns want access to our congressional delegation to ask tough questions and hold them accountable. That’s why Utahns Speak Out has created new petitions calling our other three congressional representatives and Senator Lee home for town halls as well.
CALL TO ACTION
- Constituents of Congressional District 1, sign this petition to call Rep. Rob Bishop to Utah for an in-person town hall meeting.
- Constituents of Congressional District 2, sign this petition to call Rep. Chris Stewart to Northern Utah for an in-person town hall meeting.
- Constituents of Congressional District 4, sign this petition to call Rep. Mia Love to Utah for an in-person town hall meeting.
- All Utahns sign this petition to call Senator Lee to Utah for a town hall meeting in person. Please note, this petition is more politically charged, as it was written in response to the tele-townhall Monday evening, Lee’s dismissal of concerns about Betsy DeVos as “misinformation,” and his subsequent vote for Betsy DeVos. NOTE: This petition will be delivered this afternoon, so please sign ASAP!
