SUNDAY: Join the Deportation Solidarity Rally in West Valley City

[From People Power]

As a young girl, my family moved to the United States from Peru after I lost my leg in a terrifying car accident. It’s the only home I’ve ever known. I didn’t even know I was “undocumented” until years later when I was applying to colleges. I’ll never forget feeling ashamed and embarrassed, but when I joined the movement, I found pride and power in my identity.

That’s why my heart sunk when I heard about Trump’s inhumane Border Patrol agents deporting Juan Manuel Montes this week.

Juan is supposed to be protected by DACA, a program that ensures young, undocumented immigrants are safe from deportation, but Trump and his Administration are violating our values as Americans and a promise that was made to immigrants like Juan and me.

The government is very clearly escalating attacks on immigrant communities all across the country and we have to fight back. So I’m personally asking you to take action today:

Can you sign up right here to attend a rally at your ICE Field Office to stand against Trump’s deportation agenda?

Immigrants across this country need to feel embraced and loved by the vast majority of Americans who do not support Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda. We need to help them find relief and safety in this troubled time in our nation’s history.

It’s important for you to play a role in this fight, Andrea. I hope we can count on you to continue with us in this fight to protect the heart and soul of America.

In solidarity,
