Just a friendly reminder about three great events on our Calendar coming up tomorrow to help you get involved and informed on issues that we face in Utah!
- Thursday, Feb 23, 10:00a-12:30p – URC’s Storm Capitol Hill Round 5, State Capitol Building, Salt Lake City. Join other concerned community members at Capitol Hill by participating in community lobbying around good bill SB 151 and against a bad boxcar bill on Bear River Development to positively impact UT water and air pollution problems.
- Thursday, Feb 23, 5:45p – Public Hearing for the Kids on SRJ9 Resolution on Climate Change, State Capitol, Salt Lake City. After the Senate committee refused to hear a climate bill written by Logan students, Sen. Dabakis is holding a public hearing for them anyway. Come and support students engaging politics and the critical problem of air pollution and climate change in Utah.
- Thursday, Feb 23, 7:00-8:00p – UACT’s “Intersectionality 101”, Salt Lake Public Library Sprague Branch, Salt Lake City. This is the first of many UACT member meet-ups in the new UACT Meet & Greet Series! Come check out this educational evening to explore what is intersectionality and what does it mean in today’s world. Tomorrow’s event will feature speaker and licensed psychologist, Dr. Dorn, who teaches Multi-culture Counseling and Expressive Art Therapies at the University of Utah.
PS – Anyone who wants witness action at Capitol Hill, please attend the Senate Natural Resources and Agriculture Committee hearing on SB 151: Property Tax Relief Amendments — Thursday, Feb 23 at 8:00AM in room 415 of the State Capitol (map). Show support for this GOOD BILL with your attendance because SB 151 is a great way to save water, money AND air pollution! More info here.
