Haven’t had the chance to take action on Trump’s Conflicts of Interest?
Here are some great tips from our friends at Mormon Women for Ethical Government to remind you of actions you can take NOW to ensure ethical practice in the Executive Branch.
CALL TO ACTION
- Ask your senator to support the Presidential Tax Transparency Act (S26).
- Ask your MoC to support the Presidential Conflict of Interest Act (S 65/HR 371), which would require the President to divest financial assets which create a conflict of interest.
- Ask your representative to support HR 186: “Of inquiry directing the Secretary of the Treasury to provide to the House of Representatives the tax returns and other specified financial information of President Donald J. Trump.” You may also be interested in the Tax March on April 15th.
- Ask your representative to support HR 1452, the No Taxpayer Revenue Used to Monetize the Presidency act. The bill would prohibit federal funds being used to pay for events, overnight stays, food, and other expenses incurred at a hotel owned or operated by the President. Our taxpayer dollars should go to roads and schools—not to the pockets of any president.
