Utah Senator Mike Lee issued the following notice on his website:
“In response to the volume of requests for live discussion on healthcare, I am planning to focus my next Access Live town hall on healthcare. The event will take place on Wednesday, July 12 at 6:00 p.m. MT. I am planning to increase the limit of the number of people that can attend the event to 100,000 participants.”
Senator Lee ran for Congress in 2010 on a platform that focused on the complete repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Lee stands with Trump in pushing for a repeal of the ACA even if there is no replacement plan on the horizon. This would mean chaos for the healthcare of millions upon millions of Americans, along with insurers, hospitals and care providers. The House’s AHCA and Senate’s BCRA fail to improve healthcare or its affordability and leave huge numbers of Americans and Utahns without care. In the meantime, the ACA is largely working, with a marketplace that is finally stabilizing (no thanks to attempts at sabotaging it), but it still needs adjustments to make it even better.
CALL TO ACTION
- Flood Senator Lee’s telet-townhall TODAY at 6pm with your questions and comments about the need to find a bipartisan solution for healthcare that works for Americans, not a partisan fight to repeal a system that is largely working. Ask Senator Lee to put people over politics, to defend Medicaid and to work for the hundreds of thousands of Utahns who would lose their healthcare without the ACA, CHIP and Medicaid. NOTE: You must register for this call to be able to attend. Click here to register. This event is limited to 100,000 people, and you must be registered by 5p, so be sure to register right away!
