HCR 7: Concurrent Resolution on Environmental and Economic Stewardship by Rep. Becky Edwards (R-N.Salt Lake) encourages the responsible stewardship of natural resources and reduction of emissions through incentives and support of the growth in technologies and services that will enlarge the economy. This terrific resolution acknowledges climate variability and urges the state to prioritize and coordinate the use of its tremendous free market resources to deal with impacts, which include our longer, hotter summers and recurrently lower snowpack and reservoir levels.
HCR 7 passed in the House Natural Resources Committee (victory!) and will get a vote in the House within the next few days. We need constituents to send their state reps respectful, bridge-building emails to ask for their support of HCR 7!
