Make a call for strong climate solutions!

October 29th, 2018|Action of the Day|0 Comments
According to a 2017 poll, 71% of Utahns believe in climate change and 64% believe human activity exacerbates it. Climate change is a bipartisan issue in Utah. That’s why so many of  you weighed in to help us pass HCR007 – the first climate resolution in a red state in America. But since that victory, the IPCC issued a dire report about the need for strong and immediate climate solutions and a new study shows the cost of carbon pollution is extremely high. Now we need your help again.
Our partner, Citizens’ Climate Lobby is asking Utahns to call our U.S. Senators and Representatives on November 9th to ask them to support an effective bipartisan climate solution by enacting a carbon fee and dividend. Why? A few days later members of Utah’s local chapter of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL), along with six hundred CCL volunteers, will be in D.C. to lobby for climate action, and our phone calls will help underscore that we want strong legislation.
CCL is a nonpartisan national organization that empowers everyday people to work together on bipartisan climate change solutions. The local chapter’s goal is 20 calls. You can help by committing to call your members of Congress on November 9th!

  • Please join us in calling Congress on November 9th. Put it in your calendar and use this website to get the script, phone numbers and log your calls. Be sure to place 3 calls – one to each U.S. Senator and your U.S. Representative.
  • Need a reminder? Sign up on the Facebook event: and/or sign up for text action alerts from CCL.

Every call matters!

Time and again we hear from members of Congress that they don’t hear enough from their constituents that climate change matters to them and that as few as ten unique calls in a day is enough to elevate attention to an issue for the office.

Thank you for taking action!
