The US is home to nearly 34 million lawful immigrants and another 11 million people who are undocumented, according to data from Pew Research Center. Putting political and policy discussions aside, it is time that Utahns talk about how we welcome people to the neighborhood.
In response to community members’ requests for an opportunity to meet and understand the needs of new Americans among us, The University of Utah Center for Research on Migration & Refugee Integration, in partnership with The City Library-Marmalade Branch and KRCL 90.9 FM will be hosting an informational policy brief to educate Utahn’s on current immigration policy. The goal of the conversation is to ensure that communities in Utah have an understanding about the legal impact and ramifications on individuals and families with immigrant or refugee backgrounds.
