Paycheck Fairness Act

CONTACT YOUR SENATORS ABOUT THE PAYCHECK FAIRNESS ACT!

The House of Representatives has passed the Paycheck Fairness Act! This is the best opportunity we have had in years to get the Act passed through the House of Representatives and the Senate to close the gender wage gap, but we need your help!

Right now, women of color and moms earn far less than white men and dads. Women make 80 cents on the dollar. Moms are paid on average 60 cents for every dollar dads are paid. Compared to dollars paid to white men, Latinas are paid 53 cents, Native Americans are paid 58 cents, black women are paid 61 cents, and Asian women are paid 85 cents.

On average, women lose over $10,000 each year because of unequal pay which could be spent on groceries, education, healthcare or childcare. We need to get the Paycheck Fairness Act in the Senate to be voted on and PASSED to close the gender wage gap!
