A recent study says that Utah is the 4th most patriotic state in the nation… but that we’d be number one if only more Utahns voted. Indeed, voting is one of the most patriotic things to do! And Utah offers opportunities to vote in elections every year.
This year Utah will hold nonpartisan municipal elections. Although many people overlook the importance of local elections, Deseret News columnists Frank Pignanelli and LaVarr Webb recently wrote that city elections are critical to Utah’s future. Decisions made at the local level often impact us most immediately on a daily basis, ensuring we not only have our basic needs met with good roads, sewer systems, and trash removal, but also plan for the future to ensure we maintain open space, clean air, affordable housing and a good business environment.
2019 Municipal Elections take place on November 5th, with primary elections happening where applicable on August 13th. Make a commitment to vote in this year’s election by signing the pledge!
