Ballots have been sent and early voting is underway for Utah’s 2019 Municipal Primary Election! Have you made a pledge to vote in the 2019 yet?
Why voting in 2019 matters
In 2019 the nonpartisan municipal elections will be held to select local leaders in our city governments and special service districts that make decisions that can often impact us most immediately on a daily basis — such as ensuring our basic needs are met with good roads, sewer systems and trash removal, but also planning for the future to ensure we maintain open space, clean air, affordable housing, and a good business environment. Although many people overlook the importance of local elections, Deseret News columnists Frank Pignanelli and LaVarr Webb recently wrote that city elections are critical to Utah’s future.
The 2019 Municipal Elections will take place on November 5th, with primary elections happening where applicable on August 13th — that’s just one week from today! Make a commitment to vote in this year’s election by signing the pledge!
