Current Internship and Fellowship Opportunities at Action Utah
Policy Development & Advocacy – Interns and Fellows focus on a specific policy area suited to their skills and interests. Responsibilities can include writing policy proposals, make policy proposals, building and carrying out advocacy strategy, and creating lobbying tools. Policy Development and Advocacy Interns and Fellows will participate in meetings with our legislative and advocacy partners to gain real-world experience and networking opportunities.
Communications & Outreach – Interns and Fellows have the opportunity to play a key role in developing and carrying out communications and outreach plans to grow civic engagement in Utah, including building and honing your communications and social media skills, coordinating events, developing and giving presentations to the public, networking and marketing.
Legislative Internships and Fellowships – The State Legislative Session is a 45-day period between late January and mid-March when our state lawmakers come together to propose, debate and pass all our state’s laws and balance the budget. During this time, Legislative Interns and Fellows will get into the action by participating in meetings, press events and lobbying at the State Capitol, including outreach and advocacy efforts. You will work directly with Action Utah leaders and our legislative and advocacy partners to gain invaluable insight into state politics and the legislative branch of our government while getting hands-on experience pushing and passing policy.
Development Internships – Want to go into non-profit management or development? Our Development Interns work on fundraising strategies and events, donor relationships, outreach and the grant making processes.
