This week, Action Utah presented at the 68th U.N. Civil Societies Conference about working across multiple generations to impact climate solutions. You may have also seen our op-ed in the Salt Lake Tribune this week applauding climate conversations that are now occurring across Utah and encouraging more solutions at all levels of government.
You can take action to encourage more climate solutions too!
71% of Utahns believe in climate change, and concern about the warming climate has grown dramatically in our state over the past few years. But our elected officials need to hear more from constituents to prioritize climate solutions.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Thank Sen. Mitt Romney for speaking up once again last week to state the climate change is real and is caused by human activity. Ask Sen. Romney to sponsor good federal climate solutions, such as the bipartisan Energy Innovation Carbon Dividend Act (S.3791)! Call Sen. Mitt Romney: 202-224-5251 (DC) // 801-524-4380
- Contact your state senator and your state representative to ask them to support policies that impact climate change during Interim and the 2020 legislative session
- Sign up to join a global Climate Strike event in your area on September 20
- Ask your city council members to pass a resolution to transition to 100% renewable energy
