Participate this week: Interim, Special Session and Conventions!

Today begins a busy week of political events at the state and national levels. State legislators are studying current issues facing Utah at Interim Session and making decisions to address COVID-19 at a Special Session. The nation’s political parties are preparing for their national conventions to nominate their presidential candidates this week and next. Learn how you can participate, get educated, and impact the issues you care about most!

Interim Session: Every month our state legislators come together to study and debate current issues facing our state. Interim Session will take place Monday, August 17 through Wednesday, August 19.

Special Session: State leaders are expected to call a Special Session on Thursday, August 20th for legislators to vote on important matters relating to the state’s response to coronavirus.

Democratic National Convention: Today begins the 2020 Democratic National Convention, a four-day event to celebrate and officially nominate the Democratic party’s nominee for President of the United States and his running mate for Vice President.

Republican National Convention: Next week the Republican party will follow suit with the 2020 Republican National Convention.
